Cloud Based Automated Irrigation And Plant Leaf Disease Detection System Using An Android Application
Water
scarcity is one of the problems due to the global climatic changes. Water
scarcity is mainly man-made due to excess population growth and improper use of
water. For irrigation purposes, we need a lot of water. We need a proper and
sustainable way to use water for irrigation without any loss. One of the ways
to eradicate such water losses is by adopting a proper irrigation system. A
sprinkler or dip irrigation system can be implemented to reduce the loss of
water. Another problem faced by farmers and gardeners is that the diseases
affected to the plants. Plant disease detection needs expertise. There are some
applications developed to check the plant disease by processing the image of
the suspected leaves. This method is not useful in cases where we need to check
the plant diseases from anywhere we want. The plant disease detection when done
with the help of a cloud server helps the users to detect them with their
android smart phone from any where they want. An automated irrigation system
which can be controlled by a mobile application using the cloud server can
solve all the irrigation problems we discussed. The embedded irrigation system
works on the basis of the moisture content of the soil and temperature. The
android application with a camera can help the detection of plant diseases by
taking the photo of leaves and sending them to the cloud server for processing
and detecting the disease. With the connection to the cloud server, the
embedded system can be controlled remotely from anywhere using the android mobile
application.
